Parker appointed to TDHL Board

Councillor Sally Parker has been appointed as the newest council representative on the Timaru District Holdings Limited board.

Current Timaru ward councilor and chair of the Infrastructure Committee, Parker was recently appointed to be a council representative on the council-owned company following an internal recruitment process.

TDHL is an investor in companies which support community prosperity, specifically through its substantial shareholdings in PrimePort Timaru Ltd and Alpine Energy Ltd .

It also owns a portfolio of investment properties surrounding the port in Timaru.

TDHL Chair Mark Rogers welcomed the appointment, saying that Parker brought a wide range of skills and experience to the board.

“As chair of the Infrastructure Committee Councillor Parker brings a strong understanding of the important part TDHL plays in the district’s economy” he said.

“As well as the technical knowledge she also brings a great community connection to the table.”

Councillor Parker said she was looking forward to getting to work to ensure the company went from strength to strength.

“I really believe in the incredible value of having a diversity of views and experience when it comes to corporate performance.

“We need to have a good mix of people that can provide strong governance and strategic direction in what is a challenging and quickly evolving environment.

“TDHL is a company in a great shape and with strong future prospects, and I’ll work to ensure that it continues to be a great asset for the district.”
